Planning, permitted development & building control – I can offer knowledge + experience of the planning & building control approval system at a domestic + a commercial level.

Conservation – As an affiliate member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation I take an active interest in buildings with a distinctive character. My key experience in this area includes domestic extensions in conservation areas, adaptation of an Edwardian barracks building into serviced office and the conversion of a grade A Scottish castle into a hotel.

BIM – All of my design work is in a 3D building model using the principles of BIM (read more here). This is a major benefit to clients as it helps to identify potential clashes + technical issues earlier in the design process when they can still be easily designed out or mitigated dealt with at minimal cost. I can also offer BIM related business services ranging from basic training + implementation advice to family creation + problem solving.

Landscape & interior design – On projects which require an all-round package I can offer expertise on landscape design & interiors too – both on a domestic level and on larger scale commercial projects.

Design for ageing & disability – As well as designing for disabilities in commercial buildings I have completed a number of domestic wetroom extensions & adaptations. I’m a big believer in the principle of high quality design for all & these environments are no exception.
